Day 54 - Sunday, 6 March - Mandurah (Miami campsite)

We sleep late and do not want to drive far.

Our goal is Rockingham, but we cannot find the campsite and it is to early, anyhow.

Kwinina Bay.

From the Beach of Rockingham.

Once the main observation point for WW II coastal batery, this hill gives a commanding view of Cockburn Sound, the attractive coastline and the Shoal Water Marine Park.

Green-blue Ocean with view at 340° to the offshore islands.  A couple of bunkers remind us of WW II.

Everybody is busy to get ready before sunset.

It was very difficult to find "Miami Campsite" in Mandurah.   A lot of asking.  A lot of driving back and forth.  A lot of different opinions.

It took us six hours to drive 80 kms to reach our campsite.   It took us three hours to drink four bottles  of Donald Riseborough's Rosé and White.

We are in Mandurah, at the banks of the Peel Inlet, the Estuary of three rivers, Serpentine River, Harvey River and Murray River.  This place is known for "Blue Mama Crab", but we do not find any, nor did our fishermen neighbour campers in the huge camping car.

Tomorrow is a public holiday and the "Miami Campsite" is absolutely packed.  We get a corner place (91) with space enough to set up table and chairs for a quiet supper in the late afternoon sun.  A bit too far from the ablution unit to the taste of "our two older gentlemen",  but since there is no choice.

Tuna fish for supper, a mega salad and early to bed.
